The Olde Bell is an 11th century coaching inn located a short distance down river from Henley-on-Thames in a small village called Hurley. It has been styled by the celebrated designer, Ilse Crawford, and has been renovated in true British style with English oak furniture, Ercol chairs and vintage rugs along with sumptuous double beds in all guest bedrooms.
Laid out like a sprawling village, with outbuildings and private gardens on either side of the lane, the Main Inn is for eating and drinking, overnight guests and local diners while the surrounding buildings lend themselves beautifully to private events, in particular wedding celebrations.
The Malt House is a detached, Victorian building, which is located adjacent to the Main Inn, and has its own walled garden and private entrance. When taken exclusively, the entire house, gardens and 14 bedrooms, along with your own personal kitchen and service team, are made available until the morning after the wedding.
The Tithe Barn is a sensitively restored 16th century Tudor barn, which is located across the lane from the Main Inn and which still retains many of its original features, including the oak beams and exposed rafters. Along with its private bar and terrace garden, this is the ideal venue for weddings and will accommodate up to 144 guests for a sit down meal.
Seasonal menus are available for all events, and samples of these can be provided on request along with details of a menu tasting one month prior to the wedding itself. All food is locally sourced through The Olde Bell’s own kitchen garden, nearby family butchers and neighbouring farms.
Beverages can be recommended to complement your choice of wedding breakfast and seasonal cocktails and canapés can also be supplied on request.
The Olde Bell offers accommodation for your wedding guests in five types of bedrooms across five separate buildings and the facilities of the Main Inn are available to all your guests throughout their stay.
