Equal Marriage - 2 days to go!
With the first same sex weddings taking place, for the first time in history, in the UK on Saturday 29th March find more questions to think about below....
We thought we’d keep adding to the tips for choosing a perfect same sex wedding venue. Please feel free to add your thoughts, comments and own ideas too!
When you have shortlisted your wedding venues and are ready to visit them, don’t forget to ensure you meet with the wedding coordinator themselves as they will be your contact throughout the planning of your wedding and/or wedding reception.
What is the wedding venues capacity for guests? – How does it differ from the ceremony space, sit down meals, stand up buffet meals, evening reception etc.
Car Parking – Is there sufficient space for guests to park their cars? Are they able to leave their cars if they wanted to get a taxi home or stay locally in a hotel or B&B?
Does the wedding venue offer accommodation? How many rooms are available to book for your guests? Could your guests have discounted room rates as they are part of your wedding celebrations? Is there local accommodation your guests can book?
When planning your big day, it is worth bearing in mind and having a “plan b” incase of bad weather.
If you are holding your celebrations in a marquee, will there be a solid walkway to enable guests to go in and out without having to walk across muddy grass? Can the venue provide umbrellas for your guests to use if the need to go outside?
Mostly, the photo’s are taken outside – not going to be a good look to see the couple, in all their splendor looking drenched! – Ask the venue if they have a location, indoors where the photo’s can be taken if the weather has taken a turn for the worse…
Hopefully you won’t need to worry and the sun will be glorious ALL DAY :-)
More tips to think about coming soon...in the meantime; Happy Planning!
