In 2005 Windsor Guildhall became one of the first venues in the country to hold a civil partnership ceremony when Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish ‘tied the knot’.
This might have been the first civil partnership at Windsor Guildhall but it wasn’t the only news-worthy ceremony to take place that year. In April Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles married in the very same room, the Ascot Room.
Ceremonies at Windsor Guildhall are not the preserve of Royalty and rock stars. You can book your ceremony in the very room these high-profile ceremonies took place.
The Ascot Room can hold up to 20 guests for a ceremony, however, if you have more guests than Sir Elton and Prince Charles attending your special day you can use the impressive Chamber which seats up to 100 guests.
The Chamber houses an incredible collection of portraits of royals spanning the years between Queen Elizabeth I and HM Queen Elizabeth II as well as two impressive chandeliers which are on loan from HM The Queen.
You are welcome to view Windsor Guildhall before booking your ceremony and the venue is open 7 days a week. Bookings for weddings can be taken up to 12 months in advance of the ceremony. The 2016 charge for a wedding ceremony at The Windsor Guildhall starts at £380.00 for the hour long room hire.
After the booking is confirmed I will be happy to talk though any specific requirements you might have. Windsor Guildhall is linked to the Windsor Information Centre offering contact to most of the local hotels and service providers.
