In this little corner of rural countryside, high up overlooking the gentle ooze of the river Avon, The Wood Norton is a real window on Worcestershire - perched high up overlooking the gentle ooze of the River Avon and Vale of Evesham, framed by the Cotwolds to the South, Bredon Hill to the West and the Malverns to the North.

The house, completed in 1897 for exiled European Royalty, is a glorious example of high Victorian opulence, with stunning terraces and vistas all taking full advantage of the view beyond. A beautifully crafted new formal garden was laid in 2012 in the parterre style, much as the French Royalty that once lived here might have enjoyed.

Weddings at The Wood Norton are a well-established tradition, going back to 1907 when the house was the venue for a Royal Wedding! More intimate celebrations can be accommodated within the house for up to 60 guests, however for autumn 2013 a new venue the Duchess Suite will be available for all kinds of celebrations – set back from the hotel high up over the formal gardens taking full advantage of the outstanding views with beautiful glass walls and its own private terrace will accommodate weddings of 150. All of our principal rooms will be licensed for Civil Ceremonies.

Inside, the house is a real oasis; room after room is much as Royalty left it in 1912, but with a twist of the 21st century following a complete renovation in 2012. Panelling and carvings adorn almost every room on the ground floor and the state bedrooms on the first floor, with the furniture and furnishings adding a contemporary touch with a splash colour to create an inspired mix of the traditional and contemporary.

Superlative British food, nurturing local producers and ingredients cooked with care and passion is what can be expected from the kitchens at The Wood Norton – all delivered with expertise and charm in a choice of ground floor rooms, some with access to the terrace and garden.
