“What an amazing place! We can't imagine there being any better venue to have a wedding. From the moment we saw The Compasses at Pattiswick we knew it would be perfect for our special day. A stunning building in a gorgeous setting with the most caring, organised and friendly people all there to make your day as perfect as you always dreamed of! Paul and his team think of everything (even things you didn't realise you needed/wanted)! Nothing is too much to ask and they ensured that all your needs are catered for, including special meals for one of our guests (a young boy with a selection of complex allergies). A few days before the wedding, I even asked Paul if he could make sure the sun was shining for our day - I don't know how he did it, but he even managed to accomplish this! My wife and I got engaged in June 2017 in Italy and on the way back I surprised her by booking to visit The Compasses at Pattiswick as a potential wedding venue.
We were blown away by the beauty and versatility of the venue, but even more so by Paul and Claire who are the most professional, friendly and helpful co-ordinators you could ever imagine.
Right from the first viewing, Paul made us both feel very welcome and that nothing was beyond impossible. My wife and I are both hard working professionals who at times can be demanding and have high expectations, but Paul made us both feel that whatever we needed or asked could be achieved with ease.
We asked a million questions, changed, reviewed and edited what we wanted and visited the venue more times than you could ever have imagined, but none of this was too much bother for Paul or Claire.
Our wedding day was flipping fantastic...... Yes, every guest with a role had their own itinerary including Paul’s which was 4 pages long! We got there early and both Paul and Claire were ready and waiting for our arrival. Paul gracefully co-ordinated the front of house and made us feel that we were in safe hands throughout our day.
During the day Paul “checked in” to ensure that we were doing OK and made sure we had food and drink throughout the day. He was the calm hand on our shoulders without being intrusive and reassured us that our day would be as perfect as we wanted it to be....
I/we could go on and on and on about how good the venue and staff are, but there are not enough words to do it justice. You will have to trust me when I say you won’t need to look any further once you have visited The Compasses.
