The Byre at Inchyra — Perthshire, Scotland
Tucked into 150 acres of private Perthshire countryside, The Byre at Inchyra is a barn wedding venue unlike any other in Scotland. Sensitively restored from a historic cattle barn on the Inchyra Estate, it sits in one of the country's most beautiful rural settings — about an hour from both Glasgow and Edinburgh, and close to Perth and Dundee.
This is a place built on the belief that your wedding should look and feel like you. There are no packages, no prescribed formats — just exclusive use of the barn, the grounds, and the entire 150-acre estate, shaped entirely around your day. That philosophy sits at the heart of why The Byre works so well for every kind of couple. Tie the Knot Scotland put it well: Inchyra has 'nailed blank-canvas weddings, thanks to a stunning setting, authentic rustic vibes and a supportive team' — and that balance of freedom and genuine support is what sets it apart.
The Byre is proud to welcome couples of any faith or none, same-sex couples, LGBTQ+ couples, and those wishing to hold civil partnership ceremonies. As a genuinely inclusive and gay-friendly wedding venue, every couple here is treated with the same warmth and the same quality of care.
The freedom to create your day is matched by the support to pull it off. Your booking spans three days — time to set up properly, celebrate fully, and leave at a relaxed pace. The experienced events team are on hand with support throughout the planning process, alongside a carefully curated list of approved caterers, recommended suppliers, an on-site decorations store, and a detailed A to Z of inspiration for booked couples.
The barn itself is a breathtaking space — original sandstone walls, vaulted timber ceilings, 14 skylights, and sprung maple floors reclaimed from the Kelvingrove Museum. The Upper and Lower Byre can accommodate up to 160 guests for dining and up to 220 in the evening, with a chapel-like Stable Room perfect for intimate ceremonies of up to 110. State-of-the-art lighting and sound — including theatre-grade stage lighting — shifts the atmosphere effortlessly from ceremony to celebration.
Outside, the two-acre Walled Garden and its historic apple tree aisle provide a magical setting for outdoor ceremonies and drinks receptions, while the wider estate gives photographers a wide canvas of opportunities. Couples can marry indoors, in the garden, or anywhere else across the 150 acres.
Accommodation on site means the celebration doesn't have to end when the dancing does. Three estate cottages sleep up to 20 guests between them, with the Stable Yard Wedding Suite for the couple themselves — perfect for the night before and the wedding night itself. For those who love a festival atmosphere, there's space for camping in a tree-lined area beside the Byre, and for guests staying further afield, there are plenty of local options within easy reach.
Whoever you are, however you love — you'll find a place here.
