FIVE BEAUTIFUL AND UNIQUE DECORATED ROOMS ARE AVAILABLE AT NORTHWOOD HOUSE FOR A WIDE VARIETY OF FUNCTIONS. THEY ARE PARTICULARLY SUITABLE FOR CIVIL AND PARTNERSHIP CEREMONIES.
The Ballroom
This is the largest of the function rooms, with capacity for up to 200 standing (or 120 dining). From its many large windows the views across Northwood Park and the Solent are magni-ficent, especially on a fine summer’s day. A bow window at the head of the room has a dais and double French doors leading to the private lawns (where marquees can be erected for special events) and a dance floor can be laid if required.
The Dining Room
This finely-decorated room is linked to the Ballroom by a roll-up shutter, so the two rooms can be used as one if required. Used on its own, the room has capacity for up to 80 standing (or 60 dining) and is ideal for smaller, more intimate functions, recitals and so on. Its large windows overlook the lawns on the northern side of the House to which users can have access. A dance floor can be laid if required.
The Drawing Room
This is the most beautifully decorated room in the House, and its light, airy colours and French windows onto the south-facing lawns make it very popular for civil and partnership ceremonies and perfect for photographs and drinks afterwards. The room has capacity for up to 80 standing (or 60 dining).
The Morning Room
This is the smallest of the decorated function rooms, with warm colours and gilded highlights. It has a boardroom table for 10-12, making it a pleasant room for meetings, or a haven of quiet for special dinners or smaller, more intimate events. Its large windows face onto the lawns and it is particularly beautiful in the mornings when, as its name suggests, it is filled with the morning sun. It has a connecting door to the Drawing Room.
The Library
This beautiful and unusual octagonal room can seat up to 40 and is very popular for civil and partnership ceremonies, close to the St. Mary’s entrance from the Park. It can be hired by the day or half-day, with the option of simple refreshments such as a glass of champagne or sparkling wine for guests.
The Bar
The large and well-stocked bar has an eye-catching decorative scheme, with beautiful decorated ceiling, elegant chandelier and glass walls. It is situated on the main corridor (known as the Crush Hall) close to all the Function Rooms.
The Function Rooms at Northwood House can be hired for either a full day (12 hours) or a half-day (6 hours). Rooms can be hired individually or as a suite – for example, for a civil or partnership ceremony you might use the Drawing Room or the Library for the ceremony, the Dining Room for the wedding breakfast, the Ballroom for dancing and the Morning Room for presents or as a quiet family room.
