Nestling on the border of Dorset and Hampshire, set in impressive cliff-top grounds, Highcliffe Castle is a beautiful Grade 1 listed mansion where even the architectural style is ‘Romantic and Picturesque’. Surrounded by magnificent landscaped gardens with stunning coastal views; a gentle footpath leads down to the glorious sandy beach.
Highcliffe Castle has been holding wedding ceremonies for 13 years with the very first ceremony being held in the afternoon of 30th July 1999.
Providing a magical setting for your special day, Highcliffe Castle, which was built in the 1830’s by Lord Stuart de Rothesay, is now the most popular wedding venue in Dorset.
Inside the historic house, vows are taken in the Wintergarden, a light and airy conservatory-style room, with three ceremony times to choose from at 11am, 1pm and 3.30pm. Afteryour ceremony, the wedding party may enjoy photographs in the manicured Parterre and on the Vista, before the couple make their way down the gently sloping coastal path for additional photograph opportunities on Highcliffe Castle Beach. Guests may also enjoy drinks and canapés within the grounds or in the charming Drawing Room.
Following the 3.30pm ceremony you may continue your celebrations at Highcliffe Castle, with your wedding breakfast in either the atmospheric State Dining Room, with exposed brick walls, or the majestic Great Hall with its 30ft high stained glass Jesse Window. Evening entertainment takes place in the Drawing Room with the adjacent Octagon bar providing an additional reception area.
Our bi-annual wedding fairs are held in October and March, featuring over 30 exhibitors both inside and out. You don’t have to be getting married at the castle to find this a helpful event. Admission is just £1 and parking is free on the day. Our wedding co-ordinator will of course be on hand to answer your queries and take bookings.
Whether your dream wedding is grand and sumptuous; intimate and relaxed; civil or humanist, we guarantee outstanding service and memories you’ll treasure for a lifetime.
By celebrating your wedding at Highcliffe Castle you will also be actively supporting the continued conservation and restoration of the Castle. Whilst helping us protect one of the most beautiful historic buildings on the South Coast, so that present and future generations can enjoy.
