Gilmerton House has a variety of elegant reception rooms and provides a spectacular setting for your special day. The marriage ceremony at Gilmerton House is a unique and memorable experience and the house has been host to several same sex weddings and civil partnerships over the years. Civil, humanist and religious services for up to 60 people can be held in the Drawing Room which overlooks the beautiful terrace and gardens.

For larger ceremonies, the Music Room, accommodating up to 100 guests, is a stunning backdrop. It was designed as a library and is one of the finest rooms of its age in Scotland, being completely surrounded with original, unpainted wood panelling and an impressive ceiling decorated with Rococo swirls. Larger events can be accommodated in a Marquee situated in the charming and picturesque Rose Garden. For dinner on your first night at Gilmerton House and for your wedding day, we have carefully selected a panel of 3 caterers for you to choose from; Appetite Direct, Heritage Portfolio and Hickory.

We also offer luxury, bespoke wedding packages for intimate gatherings for up to 20 guests.

The house offers 10 luxuriously appointed bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, providing accommodation for up to 20 guests. Each bedroom features a flat screen television, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, bathrobes and complimentary WIFI.

Overnight guests will enjoy a luxury breakfast, prepared by the house chef, in the handsome Dining Room, with views over the parkland and gardens.
Also, from late Spring 2017, the newly renovated 3 bedroom Gilmerton Lodge will provide luxury accommodation for additional guests.
