LGBT Friendly Wedding Venue in North Yorkshire
Nestled on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors is Danby Castle, a historical and unique award winning wedding venue steeped in history.
We consider all weddings and receptions to be as individual as each bride and groom and because of this we tailor every day to your requirements.
We can look after your special day from start to finish, from the Civil Ceremony, to the catering and entertainment.
We will meet with you and discuss your ideal day, themes, music and catering and then assist you to achieve your dream day. Danby Castle is such a versatile venue, providing a wide range of spaces which allow you to customise your day.
Steeped in history, Danby Castle, on a moorland spur overlooking the valley of the river Esk in The North York Moors, was built by the Latimer family in the early 1300′s. It’s lords included some of the most powerful nobles of medieval England.
With the death of the last of the Latimers, at the end of the 14th century, the estate passed to the famous Neville family. They remodelled the South Range, where their Arms can be seen on the south wall of the Courtroom. In the 16th century John Neville, Lord Latimer of Danby, who owned Danby Estate and Danby Castle, married Catherine Parr, (Henry VIII’s last wife,) and their marital home was Danby Castle.

Just back from our honeymoon and starting to return to normality but just wanted to say thankyou so so so very much for creating a magical, memorable day for us. From start to finish, everything I envisaged came true and more. We have not stopped receiving compliments from our guests on the venue, the food, the atmosphere and how fantastic the day was a whole and so much of it was down to yourselves. Especially Carolyn - you have been an absolute rock and a fountain of knowledge before and during the day and we appreciate everything you have done for us so much. We just wish we could do it all again now!! Haha. All our love, Liz and Rosie Xoxoxox

We just wanted to say a huge huge huge thank you for making our wedding day so memorable.
The service we received from the day we came to view in July 2011 was second to non. Carolyn helped take all the stress away by responding to my never ending emails and nothing was to much bother. You made lots of suggestions and gave lots of advice and plenty of ideas and options from food menus to table decorations. Your recommendations for flowers and the band were excellent. Audrey did the most amazing job on the bouquets and table decorations and The Fallen were amazing!
From start to finish our day went with ease and a bang! If that makes sense!
Every guest commented not only on the uniqueness of the venue and scenic surroundings, but even down to the little things such as the candles and small flower arrangements, clean toilets and friendly staff. The feedback we have had about the food has been overwhelming, everyone commented on not only on how tasty it was, but the presentation and quantity. A big thumbs up to Ems and her team, she is the wonder woman of the cooking world!
I could go on for ever talking about our day and how wonderful it was, but our smiles and our guests enthusiasm on the day said it all. A big thank you all for everything.I'm really envious of your job....I recognise a lot of hard work goes into it, but you really do make people happy.
