Have you been searching for that elusive, special place to host your wedding? Somewhere with impact and style that is also welcoming and inclusive? Your quest is over.
Barton Court is a magnificent, exclusive use, Georgian country house with outbuildings, perched on the western slopes of the Malvern Hills, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, close to the Herefordshire & Worcestershire border.
The house and outbuildings of this LGBTQ-friendly property have been restored and refurbished with sensitivity by Linda and James, respecting its historic origins but giving it a contemporary interpretation that blends rustic charm with sophisticated elegance, all in one compact location.
Our speciality is 2 - or, even 3 - night weekend weddings that give you the chance to relax and savour the occasion with those you love best. There is comfortable accommodation for 40 people on site with more available in the village. Your guests will find it easy to get here. Although Colwall is a small village, there are main line train connections to London, Birmingham and Bristol. The motorway network is 15 minutes by car with Birmingham airport just an hour away.
The vibe here is eclectic, friendly and warm. We want you to feel that Barton Court is your very own home - albeit a temporary one - full of laughter and fun. Private but not isolated, it is a magical and intimate setting for any milestone event, particularly a wedding. Feel confident in the knowledge that same sex couples are, of course, welcomed here.
You can choose to marry in a variety of places on the property, inside or out, so you can pick a spot that reflects your personality. Like formality? The gracious sitting room in the main house can be used for your ceremony. Fancy something more intimate and romantic? The Engine Room might be the answer. The Saw Mill, an atmospheric converted barn is ideal for the couple wanting a rustic vibe. Or, you could marry in the grounds…
Surrounded by glorious countryside, with the Malvern Hills as the backdrop, Barton Court has rolling lawns, wild walks, ponds and its very own bridge. The scope for memorable photo opportunities - and places to say your vows - is limitless.
Love is woven into the fabric of Barton Court. You see it in the cupid above the front door, in the plasterwork on the drawing room ceiling and in all the decorative touches throughout the house and other buildings. We look forward to adding your memories to the stories already told here.
