Clare and Amy Jackson-Little have kindly shared their story about their Wedding Day and how they were just "meant to be together". Now running their own business; Olive Events - an Event, Wedding and Party Hire business they are looking forward to the next chapter in their lives.
We met when we were just 17 & 20. It was love at first sight – a cliché I know but true all the same. We were together for about a year but then life and it’s journey pulled us apart as distance made it harder to keep seeing each other. It wasn’t until 10 years later that an unplanned night out meant we were in the same place at the same time.
Now 27 & 30 it was like the first meeting all over again. Nothing had changed. This time we weren’t going to let each other go again.
We travelled all over Europe and further afield together for 5 years building our business Olive Events, but it wasn’t until a trip organized by my brother to San Francisco that I knew the time was right.
I arranged for a local photographer posing as a tourist to take pictures of me asking her at the Japanese Tea Garden in secret.
I found the right spot and asked her to marry me – she said there was a problem – my face dropped – she then pulled an engagement ring out for me and said ‘only if you marry me back’…. I burst into tears – in all the times, trips, and travels we have done together – we both chose the same holiday and place to ask the same question without either one of us knowing!
Owning Olive Events we planned and created our perfect wedding in less than 5 months. A gorgeous holiday house owned and managed by Jane at Petite Weddings in Cornwall.
Being a December Wedding but wanting rich and opulent tones we chose Peacock Colours & Champagne Sequins as our colour palette. It took us a day to decorate, which we did by ourselves as we wanted to surprise everyone.
We took the place over – decorated the entire house and gardens, had fabulous food by White Radish Caterers and invited just under 60 of our closest friends and family from all over the world. It was a day neither of us will ever forget – the start of the next chapter in our lives and one we will re-live forever.
